Customer Tip: How to Configure Google Chrome's Memory Saver Setting

Written by Motility Software Solutions | 4/29/24 12:15 PM

A recent update to Google Chrome has added a Memory Saver setting that, when enabled, frees up memory from inactive Chrome tabs. This setting can cause problems when you use multiple tabs for MotilityAnywhere.

Follow the steps below to make sure your system can run smoothly:

Disable Memory Saver
  1. Open Google Chrome on your computer.

  2. Click the three-dot menu icon () in the upper-right corner of the browser window.

  3. Click Settings near the bottom of the menu. This will open a new tab.

  4. Select the Performance option from the menu on the left side of the page.

  5. You have the option to toggle the Memory Saver setting on or off. If you choose to disable the Memory Saver, you don't need to proceed to step 6. If you choose to keep the Memory Saver setting on, click the Add button. This will open a new popup window.

  6. Check the box for your MotilityAnywhere site or type it in manually. The website address should show up as an option if you had MotilityAnywhere open while configuring your Chrome settings. (Note: You can type it in manually in addition to checking the box to be sure it's covered.)

  7. Click the Add button.

Once you've completed these steps, you should have no problem when using multiple tabs for MotilityAnywhere!
